7th National Environmental Health Action Plan (NEHAP) Conference 2021, theme “Covid-19: Environmental Health Preparedness and Response” was commenced on 22 September 2021 at 8.30am. YBhg Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah, Director General of the Ministry of Health Malaysia served as the minister of the virtual conference.
Event Goals
The virtual conference was aimed to bond the like-minded community from various sectors to discuss and share views on environmental health-related topics. It provided a great platform for the participants to explore learning opportunities through the presentations and activities, as well as networking for strengthening the collaboration with NEHAP Malaysia.
Why a.c.e?
In the context of COVID-19, NEHAP Malaysia took a reliable responsibility in crisis management. Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH) had taken the necessary steps in compliance with the rules and regulations by pivoting the conference virtually.
With extensive knowledge and experience in conducting the Zoom event, MOH saw the value of a.c.e for supporting the usage of the Zoom platform. In addition, the initiative by holding the conference virtually allowed MOH to make a positive impact that promoted environmental and social sustainability.
Key Takeaways
Over 200 participants with similar interests attended the 7th NEHAP Conference 2021. They had four presentation sessions with four speakers who were the experts to connect and chat with the participants. Significant audiences, including representatives from various Ministries and agencies at the federal and state levels, lecturers and university students as well as the private sector are related to environmental health.
The virtual conference gathered a massive of positive feedback in regards to the ease of use of the Zoom platform. The engagement level was not lower than the previous event that was conducted physically. The excellent experience was exceeding MOH’s expectations about attending the virtual conference.
