ABOUT AKEPT
The inception of AKEPT took of on 19 October 2006 through a Memorandum Jemaah Menteri that put forward the establishment of Higher Education Leadership Academy which is know as AKEPT. AKEPT is the acronym for its Malay name that is Akademi Kepimpinan Pendidikan Tinggi.
The objective of AKEPT are to train and develop leaders with the required quality and be respected in order to bring impact to local higher learning institutions and elevate the standing globally. AKEPT HIGHER EDUCATION LEADERSHIP SUMMIT (A-HEALS) 2022
AKEPT Higher Education Leadership Summit 2022 is a programme co-organized by The Higher Education Leadership Academy (AKEPT) and International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). It is a signature programme under The Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia that involves the collaboration of important leadership figures globally to discuss the current trends and issues in relating to the Higher Education Leadership. Objectively, the programme aims to provide a platform to exchange ideas from the aspects of the higher education’s development and innovation in addition to the best practices in management and administration. Furthermore, the programme is organized to strengthen the leadership institution in all fields especially the education discipline.
WHY a.c.e?
AKEPT hosted various physical and virtual events in the past year. This year, AKEPT approached a.c.e and found that our virtual event platform was the best suited to host the A-HEALS 2022. The main reasons were:

EVENT HIGHLIGHTS
A-HEALS 2022 took place from 15 to 16 February 2022. The Summit focused on how Higher Education Institutions emerge through crisis through a series of talks and forums.
It gathered the educators, researchers, entrepreneurs as well as others in one place to share their knowledge, skills, and expertise.
- Delightful Lobby
The event was visually appealing by replicating the auditorium hall that reflected the sense of an educational and learning environment. The virtual lobby displayed the event and sponsor banners to welcome the virtual attendees once landed.
The virtual event platform had customised the features that fitted A-HEALS 2022. Prioritizing the user navigation, the key features were visible on the feature bar placed throughout the pages. It highly increased the convenience for users and effectiveness to ease their action visiting the other event spaces just one click away.
- Plenary Hall
A total number of 20 speakers confirmed their attendance at A-HEALS 2022. The 2-days agenda with the 11 sessions was well-displayed on the virtual event platform. The attendees could visit the live sessions at the Plenary Hall. One thing to highlight was that the recordings were available for attendees to visit after the live event day until the middle of March 2022. It offered an extra opportunity to gain more knowledge from what the speakers had shared in the programme.
- Exhibition Hall and Booths
The exhibition hall was where all the invited universities in Malaysia presented themselves. The attendees could browse through the exhibition booths that hosted various materials such as PDFs, images and videos. The attendees could store the documents they were interested in to the briefcase, download and revisit them for later. They were also able to visit the respective social media pages and interact with the representatives via the live chat button.
RESULTS
A-HEALS 2022 had reached the maximum of 1,000 registration numbers the day before the event started. AKEPT highly appreciated the feedback form feature as the responses were overwhelming. All respondents that filled up the feedback form were entitled to an e-Certificate as a token of appreciation for participating.
Additionally, the virtual event platform integrated with the backend system had obtained a deep understanding of engagement metrics. The analytical report proved the success of the virtual aspect of the event and determined the future directions to be acquired for the next events.
