More than 50% of corporate event teams host a hybrid event in 2021, yet only 5% of these events ran smoothly. Why?!
The reason why is hybrid events remain the top option for corporate event teams is certainly because of the benefits. Hybrid events drive sustainability, inclusivity and accessibility. To be honest, most hybrid events are dissatisfying.
Slow And Steady Wins The Race
You probably heard the story of The Tortoise And The Hare. Both of them started a running race. The hare ran very fast but the tortoise walked very slowly. In the middle of the race, the proud hare decided to take a break and rested under a tree. Soon, he slept off. The tortoise slowly and steadily crossed the finish line. The tortoise defeated the hare and won the race.
Competition in the hybrid events industry isn’t much different. There are too many potential hybrid events around and you have to make yours stand out among all. Like the Hare, it is easy to fall into the trap of sprinting as fast as you can, as often as you can. And one day, you’ll lose yourself. The moral of the story tells us that slow and steady wins the race! Like the tortoise, you may want to start out slow and experience some success. Build from there and you’ll achieve the goals.
After organizing more than 3,072 physical, virtual and hybrid events. If you want your event to be bulletproof, we believe we owned the qualification to tell all corporate event teams this advice: Elevating The Production Value Is The Key Success Factor.
Many corporations made the leap incorporating virtual events, but hybrid events evolve both online and offline audiences. You can’t assume anything that happens in the in-person event will auto-translate into the virtual one. Running a hybrid event ain’t running two separate events, but we have to make sure the in-person and virtual experiences come together. Therefore, the event production process must establish into two teams to bridge the gap between the two worlds. The virtual team focuses on the virtual components and the on-ground team manages the on-site operations.
Don’t think that the physical and virtual counterpart should always be in sync, the preparation goes a long way:
- The event venue and the virtual event platform
- The onstage emcee and the virtual presenters
- The onsite technicians and the remote supports
- The live streaming and on-demand contents
- The show producers and AV team
- The internet connection and backup plan
Just look at the number of considerations that need to be done prior to the hybrid events, your audiences will expect more than that. At the end of the day, the corporate event teams will find themselves drowning in preparation work.
From idea crafting, proposal creation, event preparation, execution to post-event examination, hybrid events require high-qualitative event production. We have shared the comprehensive hybrid event checklist at the information box, don’t go hybrid without it.
