The lethal spread of Coronavirus has taken a severe impact on every event organizer across the world. On 25th January 2020 where the time Malaysia is still safe, we got a call from our Denmark client and received bad news. The APAC events for 6 locations had to be cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Since then, the a.c.e team had raised awareness regarding the seriousness of the global issue. At the same time, we have been receiving inquiries and requests in the following weeks from our customers to move the event online. Without further due, we started to research and undertake a few measures in the testing times. We developed the virtual platform and survey around that could be helpful and supportive to deliver the necessary solutions to our network.
Starting on the 18th of March, the COVID-19 pandemic following the Movement Control Order has forced the massive postponement and cancellation of events in Malaysia. As an event organizer, it is upset to see our hard work for every event planning being wasted in one second. It’s been an intense month for the a.c.e team. We talk with the Public Listed Companies (PLCs), Government Linked Companies (GLCs) & Corporates about our platform and how we can support them during this tough period. We also have the fast-track training for our employees to work on the virtual event and to ensure the work on schedule.

1. VIRTUAL ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING (APRIL 2020)
Annual general meeting (AGM) is a yearly meeting for a listed company to present the company’s annual report and performance. The shareholders are given the opportunities to meet the board of directors, and raise their questions/comments on the company performance in order to have room for improvement for upcoming years.
The coronavirus pandemic has an outbreak and brings everyone in shock with the following of the Movement Control Order (MCO) announced by the government, which has also indirectly affected the call of the annual general meeting (AGM) in view of having limited people in the same venue. The authorities – Securities Commissions (SC) has given the instruction to restrict the mode of holding AGM, which virtual AGM is allowed but only limits to 8 pax in the broadcast venue. Thus, with this limitation of the number of pax in the broadcast venue, a.c.e has brought up the opportunity with the collaboration to partner up with Hello Virtual Event, we have successfully held the FIRST-ever Virtual AGM in Malaysia for Ranhill Holdings Berhad at 21st April 2020 that was originally scheduled on 21st March 2020. This was a great success as it was a brand new experience to move the physical AGM to virtual AGM.

2. VIRTUAL CONFERENCE (JUNE 2020)
Together with Bursa Malaysia Berhad and CGS-CIMB Securities Sdn Bhd, we have launched our FIRST-ever virtual conference, the Shariah Investing Virtual Conference 2020 (SIVC 2020), themed “Shariah Investing and Socially Responsible Investing: Meeting at the Midway” at 17th June 2020. The conference had invited 14 speakers and successfully attracted over 1,300 participants from more than 8 countries. With more collaboration with Bursa Malaysia, we have brought out a series of fully virtual Invest Malaysia Kuala Lumpur 2020 (IMKL 2020), including Virtual Series 1: Economic Recovery: Policies & Opportunities on 7th July and Virtual Series 2: Powering Malaysia’s Growth Engines on 20th July. Soon, we will be having Virtual Series 3: Economic Recovery, Infrastructure, Commodities, Technology, and 5G in September 2020.
We understand that the social events are now allowed to seat more than 250 pax, but depending on the capacity of the event halls.
